Last Spring, students from all corners of Madison were devastated when the annual Mifflin St. block party was cancelled due to the Coronavirus epidemic: “It’s the best day of the year'' said one fifth-year student dressed in a skin-tight neon-pink “Naturdays” T-shirt. “Nothing’s better than going into random houses and getting arrested for crossing the street.” A rising junior who went by the name “Chaz” told the Bonion that he loved “watching seven minute long Snapchat stories of kids he didn’t know chug milk through funnels on their rooftops,” going as far as to suggest that “Mifflin might be even better than Freakfest.” Philip Anschutz, the Billionaire owner of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, decided to postpone the event out of solidarity: “Many people think we cancelled this year's Coachella because of Covid-19; that's preposterous. The tough decision was made out of respect for the absence of Madison’s most epic darty. It just wouldn’t be right,” he said as a single tear streaked down his face. Since then, many A-list celebrities such as Travis Scott, Drake, Kanye West, and even former president Barack Obama have publicly come out to support the decision, citing Mifflin as the deciding factor. Rumors speculate other important events, such as the 2020 presidential election, may be delayed as well due to the cancelation of the historic dayger.
